The Way to Protect the Female Lead’s Older Brother - Gaiden - Chapter - 39

Jeremy’s love for Sylvia was a surprising thing.
He had no way of knowing when or why he had begun to feel this way.
And he had never imagined that Jeremy would do such a shallow thing for an unlikely love interest.
“Isn’t it funny that you brought Sylvia-Federian here?
Roxana was the first to notice the presence of the woman Jeremy had kidnapped.
Jeremy hid Sylvia in an extra toy room and bluntly told her the truth.
However, Roxana discovered that Sylvia had not been abducted by Jeremy, but had been abducted by him.
In other words, she had entered Agrice of her own volition, seeking the truth about her brother’s disappearance.
It was obvious that he had been suspicious of Agrice for a long time. That was why Sylvia had been wandering around Agrice, despite my family’s efforts to stop her.
However, I didn’t expect the iron walls of Agrice to be breached so vainly. ….
I had a suspicion that Sylvia was trying to seduce Jeremy to do this.
What Jeremy had done was so ridiculous that it seemed brainless.
It was a good thing Runt hadn’t been around, but it was easy to imagine what Sylvia-Federian would have gone through if she had been unlucky enough to be found.
Roxana gave Jeremy her undivided attention for a while.
At first, she had thought he was just possessive, but the way he had taken Sylvia, it seemed he was serious.
Many thoughts went through Roxanna’s head.
“No. ……. Wouldn’t you rather take advantage of the situation?”
Unbeknownst to her, something dark and sludgy was secretly hiding in her face, like mud in a bog.
Lately, Roxanna had been spending more and more days in her room looking at Griselda’s spellbook.
Perhaps it was one of the things Runt had made her study, or perhaps it was simply a hobby of Griselda’s, but some of the books contained records of forbidden spells that were not currently in use.
“How long do you intend to keep Sylvia-Federian here?”
“I don’t see how you could possibly…”. …!”
“Don’t worry. I’m not going to tell anyone else, including your father. You’re the one who brought it to me, so what happens to it has nothing to do with me.”
“Now you expect me to believe that?”
“Because the easier it is for me to accomplish the task my father gave me in the first place, the less likely it is that Sylvia-Federian will be walking around outside.”
Jeremy, who had been suspicious and cautious at first, seemed to have been convinced by Roxana’s last words and calmed down a little.
He also hesitated to attack Roxana, hoping to destroy the evidence.
Of course, he didn’t seem to believe her completely, but that was to be expected.
“You know, if you happen to catch a glimpse of Sylvia and touch her, you’ll be in for a world of hurt!”
Jeremy growled at Roxana like a beast trying to protect its partner.
Roxanna smirked at Jeremy.
“I’m really sorry about you, kid. If you like her so much, why don’t you just tell me straight up?”
“What? Tell me what?”
I feel sorry for you. He’s been wandering around like that looking for his brother who’s no longer in this world.
“Oh, you’re talking about Cassis-Federian now? What kind of nonsense did you go around ……?”
I don’t know if she really thinks her brother is still alive and she still can’t let go of her feelings.”
The words that came from the sweetly poisoned tongue grabbed the heart of Jeremy, who had been impatient and unable to win Sylvia’s heart.
“Maybe at first, but now it’s just a habit. You know how you’ve been looking for your brother so desperately for years? Do you really think it’s possible to do so with a single-minded heart?”
“That’s not …… what I’m talking about.”
Jeremy, the Agritian, did not understand Sylvia’s psychology.
“Yes, I just don’t have the courage to give up; I can’t stop myself. In fact, I’m sure Sylvia-Federian would like to be freed from the endless game of tag around here. I just haven’t had the chance to stop yet and I haven’t been able to.”
Jeremy was a child who craved affection. He was a bit pathetic and a bit pitiful.
“Let me guess. When Sylvia came here, she didn’t resist as much as I thought she would.”
“Yes, yes …… it was.”
“If I hadn’t been paying attention to you, I doubt you would have followed me so meekly.
Still, Roxana could have taken advantage of any number of such aspects.
“So what is there to be afraid of like a coward? Besides, she’s tired now, and in such a situation, I think her heart will naturally turn to the person who has given her the truth she’s been craving for so many years.”
The emotion of love was truly absurd and could easily paralyze the reasoning of those who were fascinated by it.
Jeremy looked at Roxana almost as if possessed. He seemed greatly perturbed by her words because Sylvia-Federian wanted him to.
He had chosen to tell her only what he wanted to hear, so it was only natural.
But it was foolish.
Some of what Roxanna had said might be true, but if Sylvia were to find out the truth about Cassis-Federian’s death, Jeremy, also of the Agri chain, would never forgive her.
Roxanna laughed like a saint and added.
“As you know, she’s kind. So I’m sure she’ll understand and forgive you.

Sylvia Fedelean exclaimed.
She cursed everyone in Agrice and vowed to take revenge.
That night, too, Roxanna slipped from her room and walked alone through the darkness of Agrice, where not even the moonlight shone.
The blood that flowed from her dripping hands fell on the leaves of the grass that grew in disorder around the inner wall of the city, and soaked into the bottom.
The reach of her eyes, ears, and hands was limited.
Then there was no choice but to gather to her what was needed.
Her smile, like a white crescent moon, blended faintly into the shadows of the night.
“You’re acting strange again…”
Just then a low voice flew from the darkness.
Roxanna wasn’t the least bit surprised, as if she already knew the eyes that were watching her, and she moved her eyes quietly to where the sound came from.
“Why do you act like this every night?”
Deon’s gaze fell on Roxanna’s arm, which was rolled up.
The red blood still flowing from the haphazardly drawn stab wound glistened in the moonlight.
“What does that have to do with anything?”
Roxanna looked at Deon with a blood-tinged, faint smile.
“How long have you been interested in me?”
There had been a time when she had been as scared of Deon as Runt had been, but not anymore. That wasn’t what she really had to be afraid of in life.
Not just me, you’re not interested in anything in this world.
He knew that Roxana watched over her every night.
But she was not worried that he might tell Runt what he had witnessed.
“Leave me alone . Then you’ll be looking at something interesting that you’ve never seen before.”
After all, Deon-Agrice was just another person who could see through Loksanna’s eyes. Such a person could not strike fear into Loksana any more.
She turned her back on the man who was staring at her with lonely eyes.

“I’m sorry, don’t be mad . I’m not doing this to hurt your brother.”
The next day, Roxanna sat by the window at sunset and apologized to the boy in the glass box on her lap.
Her face was covered with marks that had been unscathed yesterday.
It had been made when Jeremy had broken into Roxana’s collection room and a brawl had broken out.
Jeremy had tried to kill Roxana, perhaps failing to appease Sylvia.
Since Runt was just coming home, he could not do anything more to her, but instead he took the golden eyes from Roxana’s collection room.
Roxanna pretended to resist Jeremy’s attempts to take it from her.
But in fact, the eye was not Cassis’s, but a fake, so it did not matter whether he stole it or destroyed it.
Because the real one, the one that Roxana cherished like her life, was still being held in her chest like this.
“I’m just trying to get some help, that’s all. I didn’t mean to do this in the first place, but it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t make any difference what she wants, either.”
Roxana looked out the window at the deep sunset and leaned her head against the glass box.
And you too …….” A voice added, mixing with the evening air that leaked in from outside the window.
“I’ve lived my whole life and never been able to protect anything with my hands.”
So this time I thought about it the other way around.
“But I think I can destroy it.”
The red eyes, shining delicately with a strange glow, took on a sweet warmth, as if secretly peering into a sweet future beyond the abyss.
The falling sun on the ground was exceptionally beautiful only today.

“You stupid b*****d!”
Runt’s thick hand punched him in the cheek, and Rock-Sana fell to the floor.
“How many people did you send with me, and they all die, and then come back in droves without even knowing it?”
Lately, she hadn’t been feeling very well, even though nothing special had happened.
So Runt had planned to send a scout around Agritsi to pick out people once and for all, to relieve the unexplained awkwardness.
But Roxana was so confident that she wanted him to do the job that she went ahead.
Believing her, I sent her out, and the result was so disastrous.
And for no other reason than that she had taken a wrong turn at the border and had been killed by a demon. I was so shocked I couldn’t even speak.
Roxana, who had barely made it back alive after escaping on her own while the men she had sent with her had given their lives to buy time, was looking like nothing.
